You always know when it’s coming up to the holiday season due to the overload of Christmas movies showing up on the TV, but the most wonderful time of the year could never be complete without Home Alone coming on, at least once. It seems that the gaming world has also gotten that memo with Macaulay Culkin showing up more than once this week already as we see him asa special guest on Angry Video Game Nerd web series.
Keeping with the theme of Macaulay Culkin, over onRedditone gamer decided to remake the famous McCallister homestead in the map editor forFar Cry 5and did a pretty good job of it too. From the same positioning of the trees in the front of the house to the same double garage with added snow just like in the movie,u/duncsmapsdid an excellent job at every fine detail. You can see a side by side comparison below with the recreation first and then followed by the real Home Alone house.
When told in a comment what an incredible job they had done and if the map editor was good on consoles, duncsmaps replied:
“Thanks! As you can probably tell by this post and all my previous posts, I love theFar Cry 5map editor on PS4. I’ve barely touched the single player because I prefer to just be creative but I can say without a doubt the map editor is brilliant and hugely underrated. The possibilities are almost limitless and Ubisoft release FREE asset drops every now and then too, so the possibilities are always growing! Compared toFar Cry 2map editor,Far Cry 5map editor is a whole other level of creativity :)”
Although, there was one vital part they had forgotten to add to the recreation and that’s the bronze statue the driver knocks over in front of the house. Not that it really matters given the sheer amount of elements and design they put into it.
