There is no denying thatGame of Thronesis one of the most incredible fantasy dramas to have ever graced the small screen. With its complex characters and storylines that will have you biting your nails in anticipation, the show has been a fan favorite since time immemorial. However, season 8 messed up everythingGame of Throneshad been working on for the previous 7 and left fans utterly disappointed.

Now, it looks like there still might be time for redemption. According to reports, aGame of Thronesmovie is in the works over at Warner Bros. This is great news for fans who refuse to accept season 8 as a part of the show. Perhaps the movie could undo some of the harm caused in the final season, including its unfair treatment of the White Walkers’ master, The Night King.
Is Warner Bros. Developing aGame of ThronesMovie?
According to a report byThe Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has been quietly working on a Game of Thrones movie. According to the publication’s sources, the alleged movie is still in the very early stages of development.
Adding to that, there is no director, writer, or cast attached to the project but the studio is looking forward to having the small screen world of Westeros enter into the realm of cinema.

“I didn’t know what the hell I had”: George RR Martin Originally Planned Game of Thrones as a Short Story With the Most Abrupt Ending
Dan WeissandDavid Benioffhad always wanted to conclude their series with a film trilogy and while it would be amazing to have them work on the reported movie, there is absolutely nothing we can say at the moment.
While aGoTmovie could either do wonders for the franchise or sink it further, we do hope it would fix some of the wrong choices made in season 8, including but not limited to…

1. The Treatment of Night King
For seven seasons, the Night King was a looming threat on Westeros and was hailed as one of the most foreboding antagonists to have been a part of television history.
But then season 8 came along and it only took three episodes for the heroes to defeat the White Walkers and their master. In one major battle, the threat was reduced to atoms and it felt unsatisfying, to say the least.

On top of that, Arya Stark being the one to deliver the final blow to the Night King did not sit well with most of the audience as it took away a chunk of Jon Snow’s storyline and deprived the viewers of a long-awaited 1v1 between them.
2. Daenerys Targaryen’s Descent into Madness
We feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory. Fans never expected the story to have such a drastic plot twist which basically ruined Daenerys Targaryen’s entire character development.
Throughout the previous seasons, theMother of the Dragonswas portrayed as a liberator and a savior of the oppressed. Thus, when she descended into a tyrannical mindset, fans felt that it was very abrupt and not on character at all.

George R.R. Martin: ‘My least favorite scene’ from Game of Thrones Didn’t Surprisingly Feature Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys
The once-beloved protagonist massacred the citizens of King’s Landing without remorse and wreaked havoc on the world. While Daenerys had been callous and cruel before, she never seemed like someone who would turn murderous just for the sake of it.
Yes, she was a complex and grey character but she wasn’t a monster. Up until season 8, of course. While we understand that the writers may have been turning her into the Mad Queen, clearly, the execution was sloppy, rushed, and felt a little too forced.
3. Bryan Stark’s Ascent to the Throne
From Jon Snow to Daenerys Targaryen herself, there were countless characters in theGoT-verse who deserved to sit on the Iron Throne but Bran Stark was not one of them. No one in their wildest imaginations would have expected him to be the one to make King.
Ever since becoming the Three-Eyed-Raven, Bran’s popularity amongst fans only kept declining at a steady pace. Thus, when he accepted Tyrion’s proposal fans were very unhappy, to say the least.
Well, there is nothing we can do about our disappointments now, can we? All we can do is sit back and hope that the reportedGoTmovie fixes some of the wounds caused by season 8 which was nothing short of a tragic end to a beautiful show.
