Odyssey Interactive, an independent studio founded by former leads ofRiot Games, has announced that its free-to-play, cross-platform, 3v3 footbrawler, Omega Strikers, will launch on Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices (Android and iOS) on April 27. The game will feature full cross-play and cross-progression capabilities across all platforms.
“The Omega Strikers PC Open Beta (back in December) was an incredible opportunity for us to understand what did and didn’t resonate with players at scale,” said David Capurro, co-founder and game director,in a new press release. “And we’re using these learnings to take action to evolve and make meaningful improvements to the game as we head into the full cross-platform launch on April 27,” he concluded, adding that the studio’s vision is to deliver a competitive game uniquely tailored to the needs of the largest and most connected generation of gamers the world has ever seen.

Odyssey has added several new elements of strategy and progression to Omega Strikers prior to launch. Each match will now consist of three potential rounds, giving players short breaks between rounds to upgrade their skills based on performance in the previous rounds. Arenas have been redesigned to feature unique layouts and environmental obstacles, including hazards and buffs, each requiring different strategies and adorned with stunning art and animations to set the tone.
A number of new gameplay features have also been added to enhance progression, including the Striker Affinity System and the tactical Core Flip skill, a special one-use-per-match ability that knocks out opponents and gives you the chance to strike first. At launch, players can also look forward to new Quick Chat functionality, improved visuals both in and out of the game, additional collectible cosmetics, and much more after launch.
At launch, it will feature 15 handcrafted and anime-inspired strikers, each with unique abilities and strategies. Teams will need to adapt to each opponent’s play style and how the arenas change throughout the course of the match. The arenas also offer glimpses into the overarching narrative of Omega Strikers, providing new insights into the Strikers, their worlds, and their backstories. Players will have a wealth of cosmetic and personalization items to unlock and can play the game solo or team up with friends to compete in ranked, unranked, or custom game modes, all at launch.
