Fortniteis one of the most popular multiplayer video games currently. Despite experiencing a dip in popularity, Epic Games has ensured that it continuously provides new content to fans of the title.

However, in-game footwear called Kicks, which was introduced recently has disappointed fans. Despite the initial hype about these in-game cosmetics, fans are vehemently expressing their disapproval of them on platforms like X and Reddit.
Fortnite Introduces Kicks in the Game and Fans Are Underwhelmed, to Say the Least
Many exciting features and game modes have been addedto Epic Games’ Battle Royale title recently. These includeRocket Racing, Festival, andLEGObuild modes.
It has been clear for a long time that the video game studiodoesn’t shy away from experimenting with new contentin the game. The initial hype regarding these was also because such a cosmetic had never been in the game earlier. However, fans have not minced their words after the cosmetic type has been officially released.

For example, a fan took to X and posted a meme taking a hilarious dig at the new cosmetic type:
Fortnite kicks summed up 😭pic.twitter.com/L56frgbJnn

Complaints from fans don’t end there as there isn’t an option to use these cosmetics with every skin. For example, a fan also complained of the cosmetic items being incompatible with some skins.
You cannot use kicks with the leon kennedy skin im never playing fortnite ever againpic.twitter.com/JM9XbOBnIw

People are equipping these newly added in-game items on various popular and sharing some hilarious results:

Among all the posts laughing at these cosmetics only a couple of them appreciated the addition to the game:
I take it back i actually like Fortnite kickspic.twitter.com/9oq3hR3iJD

Apart from the sloppy aesthetic of Perfect Cell wearing Jordans, the story doesn’t end there. One should be ready to splurge a fair bit on these cosmetics, too.
Not Only Are They Poorly Designed, Epic Games Also Charges a Bomb for In-Game Sneakers
Despite all the design flaws, some of these footwear items come at an insane price point of 1000 V-Bucks. For reference, a 1000 V-Bucks microtransaction will set someone back by $8.99.
Fans are voicing their displeasure with the pricing of these cosmetics, too. A fan highlighted that despite not being usable on every skin, the footwear items cost five times the amount of a cosmetic that can be used on every single in-game skin:
This backbling, usable on ALL outfits is 200 vbucksWhile these Kicks, usable on less than half outfits is 1000 vbucksWhat the what is that@FortniteGamepic.twitter.com/ta9hv3YZgy
Not only that, they aren’t even usable in some game modeslike Save the World. Fans don’t seem too happy about that either:
I like never play save the world but if your paying 1000 vbucks for them you should be able to use them in every game mode 🤷♂️
It seems to be not only a fashion faux pas but a miscalculation on multiple levels from the team over atEpic Games. What do you think of these newly added cosmetic types in the Battle Royale title? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
