In a competitive game likeValorant, character and weapon balance is very crucial. Since its release, Riot Games has tried to maintain a decent balance across the entire agent pool. Yet, sometimes a few agents have slipped the inspection and created a bit of a ruckus in the high Elo lobbies. The usual suspects that have been subjected to major nerfs are Raze and Jett.

However, it looks like there is a new agent who is creating a lot of frustration and annoyance in the match lobbies. The agent is Neon, who recently received a major buff (patch 8.11) and has been going strong since, particularly in high Elo Lobbies and competitive gameplay. Players have been very vocal about their frustration and want Riot to send a Nerf soon.
ValorantFans Frustrated With Neon and Want Instant Nerfs
In Patch 8.11, Riot Games made a very significant adjustment to Neon’s kit, particularly her sliding ability. Sliding is a specialty of her kit and allows her to dodge enemy utilities just like Raze’s satchels and Jett’s dash, making her valuable. However, this ability becomes overpowered as it removes all weapon movement errors when she executes her slide.
This means players can move at breakneck speeds and slide randomly while maintaining pinpoint accuracy, giving her a distinct advantage in high-stakes situations. As a result, many feel that Neon effectively breaks the game’s intended pacing, turning almost every encounter into chaos where skillful positioning and strategy have no value.

Dear David Jadeja: Riot is Ignoring the Greatest Issue in Valorant Matches
Players in high Elo lobbies are suffering the most as she has become almost a permanent pick on any map. Due to this, players are expressing their discontent and getting vocalon various forums and social media platforms.
Players are frustrated and want to know why she can even shoot accurately while sliding.

Some are just making fun of Valorant’s ability to balance agents.
Some say that she is not popular enough right now, so only High Elo players know how to utilize her, this will get worse as time goes on.

Others are frustrated playing against her.
While some agree with the user and say she shouldn’t be in the game.
The whole thread is filled with frustrated players who think that while her slide is good, the no-weapon movement errors are the worst part and should be removed. Players want Riot to fix this as soon as possible.

Fans Urge Riot Games to Act Quickly and Balance Neon
Due to the massive buff, her pick rate has also skyrocketed, leading to a chance in the team composition and meta overall. Players are now looking to include her in their rosters to exploit her rapid movement and win matches.
To address this growing issue, Riot Games needs to come up with a solution or remove the no-weapon movement error from her kit. Since Riot has a very decent track record of maintaining a good balance of character, players are somewhat hopeful that the chaotic sliding gameplay’s days are numbered.

While Neon’s exhilarating playstyle looks fun and has brought excitement to some players, it has also raised various questions about the gameplay integrity of the game, particularly in the high Elo community. With changes coming to Sunset Map in future updates, players are also hoping that she receive her much-needed changes as well.
In the end, players will have to adapt or maybe become the sliding specialists themselves, otherwise, there is a risk of becoming another victim of the lightning-fast agent who’s currently dominating the meta.
