After the third season of Pedro Pascal’sThe Mandalorianwrapped up last year, there had been no concrete details or announcement of its future sequel, though fans have been treated to the news of Jon Favreau developingThe Mandalorian & Grogumovie.

The film won’t be replacing the possibility of a fourth season, and it has been reported that a new series is currently in development. Still, these changes bring even more confusion toStar Warsfans.

The MandalorianSeason 4 Is Now Uncertain After Announcement Of Jon Favreau’sStar WarsMovie
In a post fromThe Hollywood Reporter, the potential of a fourth season ofThe Mandalorianis now vaguer than ever after certain discussions were made in the midst of the strike. Fans would probably get disappointed withJon Favreauputting more attention to helming a film than continuing the series.
“Pre-strikes, Lucasfilm was intent on making season four of Mandalorian. The scripts had all been written. During the Great Hollywood Break, however, things got re-evaluated, with plans shifting to the movie as the priority.”

It seems that the hint here is ifThe Mandalorian & Groguperforms well, then that would be the deciding factor to make more film sequels. The fate of the series now remains a mystery.
“What happens to season four now is unclear. It’s definitely not a given. If the movie is a success, it could lead to next phase of Mando storytelling becoming movie sequels. Box office and fan reaction would determine that.”

A report fromDeadlinealso expressed that there is no confirmation yet ifPedro Pascalwould return as Din Djarin inThe Mandalorian & Grogu.
“It’s not yet been confirmed whether Pascal will reprise his role as the Mandalorian for the new film. At present, a fourth season of his hit series is also in development.”

Regardless, Favreau believes “the prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting” even though fans have already expressed mixed emotions regarding this decision. It also did not help that a script had already been written, and the studio decided to go in a different direction.

Pedro Pascal Refused To Confirm His Return InThe Mandalorian
Executive producer Rick Famuyiwa informedDeadlinethat he has no idea about the future ofThe MandalorianSeason 4.
“I know that Jon has written the scripts. I know he’s excited about continuing to tell stories in this world, and so when and how that happens, considering everything, we’ll see. It’s certainly coming; I just don’t know exactly when. I’d be shocked if they just stopped making them at this point.”
Pedro Pascal also refuses to say anything about his potential return to the franchise. Speaking to theRadio Times, he tries not to say any spoilers or divulge any details of his possible reprisal.
“There’s such preciousness around even saying that I’m signed up for season 4 if it’s already written. I’m naturally a blabbermouth, but I really get protective of it, because I get a thrill out of the surprises that are in store for the audience.”
Fans would have to keep their eyes peeled for future updates, and hopefully more positive news for the fourth installment of the popular Disney+ series.
