Bethesda has released the biggestStarfieldupdate with well over a hundred bug fixes and adjustments focusing on quality-of-life improvements and quest fixes. Bethesda has been working onStarfieldupdates and this is the first of updates that will be released every six weeks to make the spacefaring experience smooth for players.

While the update has fixed a lot of issues that players experienced inStarfield, a particular bug that had gotten popular in the community has also been fixed which seemed like a horror game mechanic. Players have expressed their disappointment with its removal and wish it was left as it is.
Players Upset as Starfield Update Removes Unintentional Horror Bug
Bethesda revealed that it has fixed the bug in the latestupdatethat showed players incorrectly visible creatures that appeared to them on some planets. As soon as the update was released, it was shared on theStarfieldsubredditand players found out that this was a bug, wishing that it was a game mechanic.
User NfamousShirley said,“So the invisible creatures was a bug?”They revealed that they went to a planet in the Sparta System at night and it felt like a horror game because of this bug that showed the creature. They added that they could only see a“ghostly silhouette”and the only way to track it was using the laser guide on mag weapons and as much as it was scary, it was also fun.

Starfieldplayers soon joined in saying that it was incredible and it shouldn’t have been removed. A player stated, “Kinda makes you wish it was a mechanic” while one added,“Imagine taking out an accidentally interesting game mechanic because it wasn’t intended.”Another player said that Bethesda has been known for having bugs in its games and this time it could have claimed that it was a feature and not a bug but it decided to fix it.
Players also added that something like this has happened withSkyrimas well with“Giants launching people into space”and it wasn’t intended. The bug was then fixed but Bethesda added it back because players wanted it. Many players had thought this a game mechanic until it was removed, asking Bethesda to not remove it.

One player said,“I thought the invisible creatures was an intentional game design and really liked it. Bethesda… please don’t remove that!”Another added,“I found the invisible creatures and they were awesome!! A nightmare to deal with but awesome all the same!!”Some players thought that creatures had camouflage as traits and found out that there are kinds of creatures, one that is supposed to be invisible and the other is not. The one that’s not supposed to be invisible is fixed.
While theStarfieldupdate has removed a bug that players desperately wanted, one bug has been fixed that has been annoying players for a while and has been in the game ever since its release. The bug was random asteroids following a player’s ship in space. Bethesda hinted at fixing this bug saying,“We believe we got that pesky asteroid follower this time….”The developer had brought an update in December 2023 but it was not of much help and the players still found it following them.
