Arnold Schwarzenegger Says Vitamin D Can Prevent Alzheimer’s

The research, published on PubMed, also highlighted the impact of copper levels on the onset of the disease. Scientists went through 60 studies examining the relationship between the seven types of minerals & five types of vitamins and diseases. However, theFUBARactor pointed out a caveat that people using Vitamin D supplements didn’t show an association with a lower risk.

Schwarzenegger further explained how the nutrient aids in preventing the disease. The most commonly studied factor in Alzheimer’s is the“buildup of plaque (amyloid-beta, specifically), which causes brain damage.”The study, shared by theEscape Planactor, found that Vitamin D considerably reduces the accumulation of this plaque, thus helping in preventing Alzheimer’s.

The Expendablesactor shared that as more research comes out on the topic, it is important for people to be aware of the risk factors. He added that it would be beneficial for individuals to have their Vitamin D levels tested to ensure they are within a healthy range.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Emphasizes The Importance Of Exercise In Preventing Alzheimer’s

In thelatest editionof Arnold’s Pump Club, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that a specific intensity of exercise could reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s by 44 percent. He cited another study from PubMed which suggested a correlation between physical activity and the onset of Alzheimer’s. In the study, scientists conducted a meta-analysis of 29 different cohort studies, involving more than 2 million participants.

While the study did not explain how the association works, it provides an idea about the intensity of exercise that can help reduce Alzheimer’s risk. Schwarzenegger wrote,“They found that moderate-intensity exercise reduced the risk of Alzheimer’s by 15 percent, and high-intensity exercise led to a 44 percent reduction in risk.”He further explained that ‘high-intensity’ exercises include running and lifting weights.
