The gameplay trailer has answered many, but at the same time posed many questions for the fans. One of them is about what kind of enemies we will get to face in the coming DLC. Talking in particular about the worm-like creature seen in the gameplay trailer for the coming extension,Hidetaka Miyazakiwas asked to describe about their abilities, upon which he replied-
“It’s hard to talk about some of these enemies without spoiling anything, hopefully you understand. But there is a significant connection between these enemies, the way they are, and the Land of Shadow.”

The director of the game essentially disclosed how he can not reveal anything major about the coming enemies without spoiling the content of the DLC, and thus refrains from doing the same. However, he did give a hint on how there is an interweaved connection between these enemies and the land they are found in.
Furthermore, the coming DLC for the game will not only bring with itself an addition of new elements but willalso fix one of the major flaws in the mainElden Ringgame, which Hidetaka Miyazaki regrets.

Elden Ringwas the first game that FromSoftware has chosen to properly create an open-world map for. The game allows you to move on from an enemy you are not able to currently beat at the time, and come back to it later after you have explored other areas in The Lands Between, a mechanic which was not possible to practice in previous Soulslike games.

However, revealed in an interview viaEurogamer, Miyazaki stated how the map of the main game has too much potential and enemies to be explored and defeated, overwhelming the player. This is a flaw that the coming DLC is aiming to fix by having a denser and richer-level design for the Land of Shadow.
The anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is scheduled to be finally released on 21st June 2024. Millions of fans around the world now patiently wait for its release as they await to be guided by Miquella into our journey in the Land of Shadow.
