As you get to learn about it earlier in the game, you can only stay inside a Shroud zone for a limited time, but these areas are also home to some unique resources.

How To Get Shroud Wood
Shroud Wood can be obtained in the same way that you get Wood Logs, but the only difference is you shouldcut down the trees inside Shroud Zones. The best place for farming Shroud Wood early in the game isbeneath Braelyn Bridge. If you explore the area on the right side of the bridge, you will come across multiple trees, and most of them are dead or dried out. Unlike normal trees that drop both Logs and Twings, the trees in Shroud zones will only drop Shroud Wood.
One early use case of Shroud Wood is when you want tocraft Glider, which comes in handy for exploring the game’s world, with no need to find a path or bridge anywhere or make risky jumps. Other than that, building Felling Axes requires Shroud Wood as well. Moreover, if you decide to strengthen the flame of the Altar in your base, you will need Shroud Wood again.
Aside from Shroud Wood, there are some other resources in Shroud zones that will come in handy for upgrading and strengthening the Altar, such as Shroud Liquid which can be obtained by collecting. white, meatball-like plants in the zone.
