Megaserver is back up!
The Bethesda Support Twitter page has reported that the Xbox Megaserver of North America has been restored and is now running again.
If you’ve been having trouble logging intoThe Elder Scrolls Online, you’re not alone, as Bethesda has temporarily shut off the North American megaserver for a bit of unexpected maintenance. The server shutdown followed multiple complaints across the web from players who were having trouble logging into their accounts.
The megaserver was taken down on Sunday at noon EST, 9 a.m. PST. According to theofficial Bethesda Support Twitter account, the purpose of the shutdown is for maintenance following the login complaints, although a look back through the feed reveals that they’ve been a common problem in recent days.

All of this action on the North American servers follows the recent release of the latest expansion to the popular MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom, which made its debut on PC on June 5 but didn’t become available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles until just last week, on June 20. Additionally, a similar server shutdown occurred just a couple days ago, on June 23, for European servers, following complaints of trouble with logins from players in both the European and North American markets, which Bethesda had already begun addressing on June 21.
There’s been no official statement released byBethesdaregarding the cause of the login issues, but players' complaints had persisted in the hours leading up to the server shutdown.Over on Reddit, some North American players had been reporting confusing messages, such as one Xbox user who wrote “Yeah. I’m on Xbox NA. I got kicked from the game, have gone through the queue twice, and have received a ‘this account is already logged in’ message after both attempts.”
Others have suspected the login issues have been the result of a DDOS attack, like the one that struck Diablo 4 serversjust yesterday. Again, there is no official word from Bethesda if this is, in fact, the case.
