Millions around the globe eagerly wait forElden Ring’sDLC to release finally. The “Shadow of the Erdtree” extension pack was announced nearly a year before, three days after Elden Ring’s first anniversary. Since then, it has been anybody’s best guess what piece of lore will the new pack contain, however, fans have already come up with a plausible theory.Considering the key art for the DLC which was released with the announcement, many fans speculate it might finally be time we get to know more about Miquella’s character.
The given art depicts what seems to be a younger Miquella on a steed, amongst a grain field. The character is shown to be facing toward a tree, which many speculate is the burned-down Erdtree, the Haligtree, or even better, the Erdtree before the events ofElden Ring.
Will The NewElden RingDLC Revolve Around Travelling Back To The Past?
While it remains a theory, it is plausible that the upcoming extension pack will revolve around the events before what happened in theElden Ring. If the character on the steed does indeed turn out to be Miquella, then we may get to see the storyline consisting of his journey before he goes into the cocoon.It wouldn’t be unexpected, given that FromSoftware, the game’s development studio, has previously done similar extension packs. Fans theorize that the upcomingElden RingDLC will share similarities withDark Souls’ Artorias of the AbyssDLC, where the studio has played and experimented with time travel.

What Do We Know About Miquella InElden Ring
Miquella is the twin brother of Malenia and the child of Queen Marika and Radagon. Since his parents were just two different halves of one entity, Miquella is a demigod and an empyrean. This makes him eligible to be the ruler of the new order, something fans have thought Miquella wanted to do.
He was born with the curse of eternal youth, which essentially meant that he would not grow up into adulthood ever. It is said that Miquella created the Haligtree to cure his curse, as well as his sister’s scarlet rot curse.
