Elden Ring’s Shadow of the ErdtreeDLC has been in deep waters ever since its release last month, getting mixed feedback from fans around the globe. And while it misses out on a lot lore-wise, fans have started realizing there is another major mechanic that the Realm of Shadow lacks.

One of the first NPCs you meet after completing the tutorial is Merchant Kyle, who can be found in the Church of Elleh. As you further travel through the different parts of The Lands Between, you come across many merchants like Kyle allowing you to buy and sell items, a mechanic that’s missing in the recent DLC.

Unfortunately, despite feeling like what is a sequel to the main game, the recent DLC does not feature even a single one of these beloved NPCs, a realization that took place in the officialElden Ring’sReddit forum nearly a month after its release.
LuckilyFromSoftwarewas thoughtful enough and there are other NPCs around in the Realm of Shadow offering new and unique items for the player to buy.

But there remains no doubt that merchants make up for a small chunk of the experience and players would love to see them again if the studio ever decides to work on a sequel.
Shadow of the Erdtree -A Bag Full of Surprises and Missed Opportunities
Bringing to the table an unimaginable amount of arsenal, lore, and bosses one could have never even thought of fighting, FromSoftware’s largest expansion to date manages to stand out from the rest of the competition for a very obvious reason.

However, despite earning the top scores in almost every test,Shadow of the Erdtreestill manages to skip over many expectations that fans held with the added content, including the mystery ofGodwyn the Goldenand his anticipated return, something the creators havebeen building up since the main game.
Fortunately, it’s not all haywire, since theElden RingDLC still serves its purpose pretty well, which is the reason why it is now being credited as one of the best expansions ever made in the video game industry.
