If you have played numerous expeditions inElden Ring Nightreign, then there’s a chance you have come across a mysterious item called “Cord End.” It’s a scarce legendary item with a description that reads “Gain entry somewhere.”

Similar to many other items in Nightreign, this description gives the player almost zero information. Considering the map of the game is fairly large, and players only have a certain amount of time before the rain comes in, finding where to use Cord End can be tricky.

Cord End in Elden Ring Nightreign

How to Find Cord End in Elden Ring Nightreign

As previously mentioned, Cord Ends are very rare in Elden Ring Nightreign. In fact, they may just be the rarest item in the entire game. I have only encountered this item three times, and I have been playing the game pretty religiously since its release.

Still, Cord End’s appearance has a pattern. Cord Ends areusually found in boxes, with the highest drop rate being from boxes at churches. I recommend destroying all boxes at every church you encounter, which can easily be done by sprinting through them.

Elden Ring Nightreign: How To Change The Shifting Earth Events

Now, changing the very Earth itself in Elden Ring Nightreign lies in the palm of your hand.

You’ll know you’ve found a Cord End if agold item drops from the box. From the 80 expeditions I have played through, the only gold item to drop at churches is Cord Ends.

Once you acquire a Cord End,it would be best to use it on Day 2 of the expedition, considering this is the best time to tackle the castle. I don’t recommenddiverging from your standard routejust to reach the secret door. Instead, you should reach it naturally on the way to the castle.

It’s really important to communicate with your teammates that you have a Cord End, so everyone gets a Sacrificial Talisman. If you aren’t using a mic, make sure toping the talisman.
