Shifting Earth events are some of the most interesting and engaging things thatElden Ring Nightreignhas to offer. To see the map altered, then deviating from your planned route with your teammates to plunder the depths of anancient volcanoorfrozen mountaintoptruly keeps the Rogue-lite experience fresh and alive.

The only annoying thing, however, is how infrequent these events were. Once they’d come and gone, it was painfully difficult to get them back again. That is, until Version 1.01.3 of the game came out and gave us a quality of life upgrade in this regard.

Elden Ring Nightreign: How To Beat Adel, Baron of Night

Hideous, vile, and did I mention one of the most annoying Nightlord bosses?

Out of nowhere, the sneaky team at FromSoftware shadow-dropped this new update that summoned forth a brand-new version of the Gaping Jaw boss, which is asbrutalas you can imagine. This “Everdark Sovereign”, however, is the key togaining control of the very Earth itself!

Nightreign Collector Signboard

Once you’re able to take down Adel 2.0, here’s how you’re able to choose your Shifting Earth events from now on.

A New And Improved Shop

Once you finally slay this violet vortex-creating monstrosity, you’ll earn something called “Sovereign Sigils”, which is a new form of currency alongsideMurk. To use this currency, you’ll have to find the new shop called theCollector Signboard, which is rather hidden.

You won’t be able to see this shop until you’ve actually beaten the new boss. I tried this myself, and the area was empty.

Nightreign Changing Event

you’re able to find this new addition by teleporting to the shore of the Roundtable Hold and then running northwest, left of the main entrance. Around the corner sits the Collector Signboard, which has some great quality-of-life features—something pretty unusual for FromSoftware.

Changing Events

Upon interacting with the signboard, you’ll be given several options. The only one that concerns us right now is the third option, which reads, “Conjure a shift in the Earth.”

Select this option, and you’ll be shown the four types of Shifting Earth events: Crater, Mountaintop, Rotted Woods, and Noklateo.

A whole lotta Lake of Rot PTSD from this one.

Select whichever event you wish to conjure and simply choose “Yes.” This will only cost you1 Sovereign Sigil, which is pretty cheap considering you get 25 from defeating Gaping Jaw. Head back to the Roundtable Hold expedition room, and you will see upon entering the selection screen that the new event will be active, ready for you to explore.

Once you’ve unlocked the new shop, you may return there quickly by opening up the map and scrolling down to the Collector Signboard option.

Nightreign Pass Time

Be aware thatonly the first killof the updated Gaping Jaw boss will give 25 Sigils. Any victories after that will give a reduced amount, so spend them wisely.

Removing Events

For those who may not have any sigils left and want to get rid of a Shifting Earth event, remember that you can go to the room south of the Journal and stand next to the bed to “Pass Time”. This will get rid of the event that iscurrently active.

This is especially useful if you have an event like Noklateo, which gets rid of the central castleand often completely changes your game plan.

Of course, don’t sleep for too long, Nightfarer. There are always more Nightlords to fight. By the sounds of FromSoftware’s special boss rotation plan, there mightnot be much time to slay them in!
