Pawns are an essential part of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 experience. In addition to your customized main Paw, you’ll be able to recruit two additional Pawns to travel with you. Some of these Pawns are pre-generated by the developers. Other Pawns belong to players who are also playing the game. If you don’t want that kind of random experience, you can actually search for the Pawn of a friend. This will allow you to travel with your friend’s main Pawn. It’s a great feature with a lot of benefits.

How To Summon A Friend’s Pawn
Summoning a friend’s Pawn is fairly simple, but it isn’t obvious. The game also never tells you how to do it. First, you want togo to any Riftstone. Once you go through the rift, you want toselect the Riftstone again. This will bring up a menu where you will findPawn Searchas an option. You’ll see the option to selectFriend’s Pawnin the following menu. Once you select that, you should see a menu displaying all of your friends and their available Pawns. Select the Pawn you want, and you’ll see a dropdown menu where you can selectSummon Pawn. Once you do that,you should see your friend’s Pawn nearby. Then you can recruit them just like any other Pawn. Just to cover all of the bases, we’ll also detail your other options when searching for a Pawn.
Pawns aren’t cross-platform, so you’ll have to be friends on the same platform.
Advanced Pawn Search
This option allows you to customize your search. Maybe you’re specifically looking for a Mage. Well, you can limit your search to mages. You can select a specific level range, a personality type, and you can even search for Pawns with knowledge of the current quest you’re on.All useful options to consider when hiring a Pawn to your party. You can even recruit Pawns with particular weapon skills. You can really fine tune what you’re looking for to make sure you have the perfect Pawn for your Party.
When recruiting a Pawn, be sure to look at their Pawn Quest. A quest will often come with some kind of reward from the Arisen who made that Pawn. Rewards could range from useful items, to gold, or just some garbage. If you’re looking for some good loot, pay attention to Pawn quests and only pick up ones that offer decent rewards and reasonable goals.
View Favorited Pawns
When you group with a Pawn, you’ll be given the option to Favorite that Pawn.Maybe they have a personality you like, or maybe they’re just a powerhouse on the battlefield. Either way, this is the quickest way to link back up with Pawns you’ve favorited throughout your adventures.This will also allow you to keep an eye on a Pawn you really like. A particular Pawn may become too high or low level for you to use beneficially, and this will let you check in with them from time to time. So, if you find a Pawn you really like, be sure to favorite them for the future.
View Previously Hired Pawns
This option is pretty simple.If you hired a Pawn previously, but forgot to favorite them, this is another way to search for them.There aren’t any particular perks to hiring a previously hired Pawn, but it’s always nice to see a familiar face. If you do hire a Pawn you’ve worked with previously, they’ll often acknowledge your working relationship and how good it is to see you again. This is one of the many weighs Dragon’s Dogma 2 offers an immersive experience.
Pawns Your Main Pawn Knows
You main Pawn journeys with other players on the regular. This means they’re also joining parties with other Pawns.When you select this option, you can view the other Pawns your own Pawn has been brushing shoulders with.If you see someone you like, you can always recruit them to your own Party. This is, honestly, the least useful search criteria in the game. Looking at Pawns that your Main Pawn has mingled with is neat, but not really beneficial. You don’t get to specify things like class or quest knowledge. Then again, your mileage may vary.
Search By Pawn ID
Every Pawn has their own unique ID.So, if you wanted to share your Pawn with others online, you could give other players your Pawn ID. This will allow them to search for your Pawn and recruit them without having to friend you directly. However, without being friends, this means they will have to pay full price to recruit your Pawn. Sharing one’s Pawn ID has become a popular trend of Twitch and social media. It’s a great way to promote community engagement without forcing people to friend other players they don’t know personally.
Why You Should Choose Friend’s Pawn
Summoning the Pawn of a friend has a few cool benefits. If your friend has already explored an area, their Pawn will point out secrets like chests and Forgotten Rifts.If your friend is higher level, you can still recruit their Pawn.This can potentially give you a very powerful ally.On that note, recruiting the Pawn of a friend is free!That’s right! You can get your friend’s powerful Pawn free of charge! It doesn’t get any better than that! Their Pawn will also benefit from your adventures.Adventuring with you can contribute to their Pawn Badge progress, which is beneficial for the Pawn and Arisen.Plus, you and your friends get to talk about all of the epic adventures you had with one another’s Pawns!
