How To Use Sealing Phial

Sealing Phial is a one-time-use item that can be used to store any named NPC into the Phial for an indefinite duration. Using the Sealing Phial on a person will ‘suck’ that person into it, keeping it in your inventory for as long as you don’t use it. Using the Phial with a person stored inside will release that person and break open the Sealing Phial. Using the Sealing Phial on an NPC won’t make them hostile. It works just like grabbing someone. They’ll appear disoriented for a second, then return to normal.

You cannot deposit the Sealing Phial into storage after you’ve stored someone inside it.

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 character is duplicating items at the Ibrahim’s Scrap Store.

Here is how to use the Sealing Phial.

Once complete, the empty Phial will be replaced by a filled Sealing Phial.

You can duplicate the Sealing Phial by giving it to the Sphinx as your ‘most valuable item’ during The Riddle of Conviction.

Also, don’t forget who you store in the Sealing Phial, the game won’t tell you who is inside the bottle, only that it is filled. Its name changes from Sealing Phial to Sealing Phial (Contains person).

The Sealing Phial (Contains person) does not bring the NPC over to New Game+.

Who Should You Use The Phial On

The Sealing Phial can be used on any named NPC(NPCs you can revive), so there are literally hundreds of places where you can use this item. But since the Phial only works once, you’ll want to know what the best places to use it are. Here are the best options we know of.

Solving Sphinx Riddles

Three of the ten Sphinx Riddles involve bringing an NPC to the Sphinx. There are two ways to do this. One, carry the NPC in question in your arms in aprincess carryanduse aFerrystoneto bring them to the Sphinx(provided you placed a Portcrystal nearby). Or, two, you use the Sealing Phial on that NPC and bring them along. Following are the riddles in question:

Escort Quests

Escort Quests are typically timed and require the player to bring someone from point A to point B within aset time limit. These quests are very easy to fail because of the way the game encourages sidetracking at every turn. And certain NPCs are particularly weak and are prone to dying midway. Using the Sealing Phial can make these quests extremely simple. Just store the person inside, reach the location in question and open the Phial.

Certain NPCs need to be talked to progress a certain quest or reach a certain area, and they’re often in extremely hard-to-reach places.Hugo in Off the Pilfered Path,Rodger in Prey for the Pack, andOskar in Tolled To Restare all good examples of this. Another good one is theTricksterOracle(the one you meet during the main quest). You’ll need to revisit this NPC at least three times on different occasions, and she’s nowhere close to an Oxcart or a Portcrystal, making the journey to her location an extremely long one. Use a Sealing Phial on her and bring her out when the quest wants you to talk to her.
