The Game Will Hopefully Be a Return to Form for Bioware

Dragon Age: The Veilguardpromises to be a worthy addition to the beloved franchise. Set in the rich and complex world of Thedas, the game is expected to continue the tradition of deep RPG storytelling and intricate characters that fans have come to love. Fans are also hoping that the game is a return to form for Bioware, who have struggled this past console generation with flops likeMass Effect: AndromedaandAnthem.

REVIEW: ‘Anthem’ Is Not Exactly What It Seems

Another exciting aspect of the game is its expansive open-world environment. Players will have the opportunity to explore diverse landscapes, from forests and crowded cities filled with NPCs and things to interact with, to desolate wastelands and ancient ruins. Previous teaser trailers showed a hint of the various stunning locations that gamers can explore, with stunning art direction and details.

The developers have also revealed in recent interviews that the game will have more of a morally complex story, where player’s choices will have big consequences. This branching narrative will challenge players to consider the impact of their decisions, and the RPG mechanics are supposed to be a serious focus this time around.

On top of all this, the graphics and visual design of the game have been a major focus for the development team. The gameplay demo shown at the Xbox Games Showcase was graphically stunning, even though many aren’t a fanof the more cartoony and animated art direction of this sequel.
