Since the beginning of Activision’s popular military shooterCall of Duty,the Kar98K has been a faithful companion to players. From a World War setting to a modern battlefield, it never left players’ sides. But then some players are not very fond of the fact that the weapon has so much power that it can outshine even the best snipers in the game.
Fans believe there is something wrong with the weapon. InUnited Offensive, it is capable of killing an enemy with a headshot or three rounds to the chest. However, in recent games, the one-shot kill zone has been expanded from the head to the chest.

There is a different satisfaction when we kill an enemy firing at us with a Holger or RAM with one shot from the classic Kar98K. It’s fast, it’s deadly, and it’s fun. Though the reload time is a bit longer, that doesn’t concern the players much. But some players are now questioning about the popular weapon for its capabilities.

In a conversation on social media platform X, discussing if the weapon should be nerfed or not, a user named Markey1991 highlighted that there’s something wrong with it.

Even without its best builds, the weapon still can prove lethal against enemies. Unlike the user, some players still feel it is underpowered. They want it to kill with one shot within any range, not just when enemies are under 80 meters of range.

Even if the devs don’t decide to nerf the weapon, they should buff some snipers to give the fans some sense of achievement.
It Wasn’t Exactly a Nerf, But the Weapon Got a Couple of Fixes
The iconic marksman riflemade a return inCall of Dutyrecently after its gameplay was leakedonline last month. Players thought it will bethe same as depicted in 2019’sModern Warfare. Players need to go through a process before they are finally get a hold of the weapon. Though free to unlock, players need to conquer Sector 5 in the Battle Pass.

Recently, devs brought in some update patches where the marksman rifle got a couple of fixes. One, it removed the CS15 Scarlet Box Laser Attachment; two, it fixed the obstruction issue with the No Stock Attachment.
Although every player would need to choose their own personal build that fits the bill, 7.92 High Grain Rounds and Prazisionsgewehr 762 Long Barrel remain among the best attachments while on the battlefield. While some players are obviously not happy with it, developers need to find a middle ground for both parties.
