One Punch Manis one of the most fun and experimental series in the anime industry. The several mysteries featured in the series give an aura of seriousness and intrigue, which is whyOne Punch Manis a beloved show by many. Due to its unanswered questions, fans have taken it upon themselves to create theories to satisfy their curiosity. One of them surrounds the fan-favorite cyborg, Genos. His tragic past and relentless pursuit of justice have garnered significant attention.

There is, however, one theory that could shatter the entire dynamic of Genos and the main character, Saitama. It could also be one of the greatest plot twists in the anime industry. Fans have rampantly theorised that Genos is the Mad Cyborg, the figure that killed his parents and destroyed his hometown. Almost every fan is convinced that the beloved character might be responsible for his own past due to many hints in theOne Punch Manplot.
The Tragic Origins of Genos: What Does The Theory Mean for Him?
The young cyborg had led a peaceful life, despite the harsh world, with his family. Now 19, his origin story begin at the age of 15 when everything turned upside down. A rogue cyborg, often referred to as the “Mad Cyborg”, destroyed his home and killed his parents. Genos was saved by Dr. Kuseno, a scientist devoted to hunting down the Mad Cyborg, and as a result, he was rebuilt as the powerful cyborg we know him to be today. He is one of the most powerful characters in the series, only second to his mentor, Saitama.

So, why does the theory exist? Supporters of this theory point out that, despite Genos’ relentless hunt, we have never seen the Mad Cyborg and little information is provided about the antagonist. There’s an unexplained gap in his memory that seems too convenient onYusuke Murata’spart. By framing Genos as both the victim and the perpetrator of his tragedy, the story takes on a new layer of psychological complexity. He would be the very thing he hates.
Dr Kuseno Is Possibly Lying to Genos
Several fans are pointing fingers at Dr Kuseno for Genos’ gap in memory, or rather, he has implanted fake memories in him. But why would he do that? Considering the mass murder of his hometown, Genos would surely have a mental breakdown finding out that it was all his fault. Dr Kuseno’s own hunt for the Mad Cyborg could be to keep Genos in control and have a focus point to zero in on.

Some fans are naturally still sceptical, but agree that Dr Kuseno knows more than he is letting on. It is entirely plausible that he is aware of Genos’ true identity but has kept it a secret to protect him—or because he sees Genos as a tool for redemption. On the flip side, perhaps he only saved Genos and made him stronger to feel less guilty about being inadvertently responsible for his hometown’s demise if he had any part in creating the Mad Cyborg. He could also be using Genos for his personal vendetta against the mysterious killer.
