One such collectible is the Mounts that are available to find and collect. These Mounts can be changed to be the main horse that you ride around Sanctuary while playing through the game. There are 32 Mounts in all, and here is how to obtain them.
Updated by Abigail Angell on November 8th, 2023:The longer Diablo 4 is available to players, the more information is learned about certain drops and items. This update included new mounts available through in-game purchases, seasonal content, and additional farmable mounts.
Mounts From In-Game Purchases
There are 4 Mounts available to purchase with currency found in-game such as Gold or Red Dust. You can buy them at any Stable Master in the major cities or at the Unconventional Mount Armor Vendor in the Fields of Hatred.
The Bloody Mount
The Bloody Mount is one of the many items obtainable only inthe PvP zonesknown as The Fields of Hatred.Once inside these areas, you’ll need to collect Seeds of Hatred and purify them into Red Dust.Then, you canuse 100,000 Red Dust to purchase this Mount from the Unconventional Mount Armor Vendor.
Grey Steed Mount
The Grey Steed Mount is one of the 3 Mounts you canpurchase from the Stable Masters around Sanctuary. The Mount costs 20,000and can be purchased as soon as you are able touse Mounts starting at Act 4.
Mottled Steed Mount
The Mottled Steed Mount is another one of the Mounts available forpurchase at the Stable Masters around Sanctuary. The price of this Mount is 20,000 Gold.
Old Nell Mount
Old Nell is the Mount you will obtain the moment you finish the quest “Donan’s Favor.“It is the quest at the beginning of Act 4 that will allow you to use Mounts to begin with.
Mounts From Shop Purchases
There are 4 Mounts available to purchase for real-life money on the in-game shop. You can pay with real-life money and obtain Platinum, an in-game currency that allows you to shop at this specific in-game shop.
The in-game Shop changes frequently. These Mounts are not guaranteed to always be available for purchase within the shop. New Mounts may also appear in the shop daily. Be sure to keep up with what is in the shop, just in case something amazing shows up.
The Lux Mount was added to the game in Patch 1.1.0.43333 as part ofthe Father’s Judgment Add-On Bundle for 64.99 USD.In addition to the mount, this bundle contains The Shelter of Light’s Messenger Mount Armor and 7800 Platinum.
Conscience
The Conscience Mount is purchasable withthe Blood Prestige Bundle for 1400 Platinum (14 USD).
Festering Palfry
The Festering Palfry is obtained when you purchase the Fleshrot Overgrowth Prestige Bundle for 1500 Platinum (15 USD). This bundle includes the Flesh Rot Mount Armor, the Festering Palfry Mount, and two mount trophies.
The Calacas mount in purchasable as part ofthe Flowers for the Dead Bundle costing 1800 Platinum (18 USD).This includes the mount, the Coat of Marigold Armor, the Painted Skulls Mount Trophy, and the Remembrance Altar Mount Trophy.
The Primeval Mount is available as part ofthe Ancient Power Bundle costing 1700 Platinum (17 USD).This bundle includes the mount, the Primordial Chitin Mount Armor, the Sigilstone of Elder Power Mount Trophy, and the Totem of the Great Beast Mount Trophy.
Invincible Aspect
Invincible Aspect can bepurchased in the shop for 2500 Platinum (25 USD).
Endurance Mount
The Endurance Mount is one of the items you get for purchasing the “Penitent Dragoon Prestige” cosmetic theme.This theme is 1,600 Platinum, which equals $16 USD. The description of the theme states, “Many of Sanctuary’s heroes face pain and torment in their lives, undaunted. Even their mounts bear the burden of their masters' struggles.”
Ingot Mount
The Ingot Mount is one of the items given to you for purchasing the “Weight of Gold Prestige” cosmetic theme.This theme is 1,600 Platinum, which equals $16 USD. The theme’s description reads, “The golden symbols of the cathedral, shown as irresistible beacons for Klath-Ulna’s vengeance. And any he attended would soon peal no more.”
Liath Icehowl Mount
The Liath Icehowl Mount is part of the “Crypt Hunter” add-on.This add-on costs $6.99.It does give you Mount, some weapon transmogs, and 800 Platinum. The 800 Platinum costs $8 USD regularly. This Mount is a great deal. The add-on’s description reads, “Once used to ferry bodies to their rest; this mottled colt carries with it the trinkets of heroes long dead and buried.”
Triune Charger Mount
The Triune Charger is one of the many items from the “Three-Fold Nightmare Prestige” cosmetic theme.This theme costs 1,500 Platinum. This ends up costing $15 USD. The description of this reads, “The Peace Warders of the Triune spread their message across Sanctuary, astride powerful steeds draped in symbols of the Three.”
Xiansai Stallion
The Xiansai Stallion is included with theXiansai Herald Prestige Cosmetic Theme. It will cost you 1800 Platinum (18 USD).
The Luciferin Mount is part of theBioluminescence Prestige Cosmetic Theme and costs 2000 Platinum (20 USD).
The Moya Mount can be purchased inThe Respendent Palfrey Prestige Mount Cosmetic Theme for 1600 Platinum (16 USD).
This mount is part ofthe Among the Stars Prestige Cosmetic Theme which costs 2000 Platinum (20 USD).
Mounts From Promotions & Special Rewards
There are 3 Mounts that fit into this category. One is from pre-ordering the game, one is from purchasing certain editions of the game, and the other is from a promotion Blizzard is doing with Twitch. Each of these Mounts is great and definitely worth obtaining if you still have the ability to do so.
Famished Thoroughbred
The Famished Thoroughbred Mount was awarded to players who reachedTier Level 1 of the Free Battle Pass during Season of Blood.
Awoken Famished Thoroughbred
The Awoken Famished Thoroughbred Mount is a dark-colored variation of the Famished Thoroughbred, which wasawarded to players who successfully reached Tier Level 90 in the Premium Battle Pass during Season of Blood.
Warded Spirit Mustang
This mount was awarded to players who reachedTier Level 1 of the free Battle Pass during Season of the Malignant.
Awoken Warded Spirit Mustang
The Awoken Warded Spirit Mustang Mount was a reward to players who reachedTier Level 90 in the Premium Battle Pass during the Season of the Malignant.
Salmagundi
The Salmagundi Mount was a limited-time reward for players whocompleted Chapter Five of the Season Journey during Season of the Malignant.
Light-Bearer Mount
The Light-Bearer Mount, along with someMount Armor, came from pre-ordering Diablo 4. It doesn’t matter which edition of the game you purchased; as long as it was pre-ordered, this Mount will be found in the Stables when you get your first Mount.
Primal Instinct Mount
The Primal Instinct Mount is one of the cool itemsyou can get fromBlizzard’s promo with Twitch. In order to obtain this Mount,you have to get on Twitch and gift 2 subscriptions of any tier to one of the Twitch streamers Blizzard has approved.You will then obtain a code to get the Mount. You’ll need to redeem the code on Blizzard’s website before this Mount shows up in your Mount selection.
Temptation Mount
The Temptation Mount is available to all players who purchase the Deluxe Edition and the Ultimate Edition of the game. If you purchased one of those editions, you will find the Mount at the Stable Master. As soon as you unlock Mounts, you can take this one out for a ride through Sanctuary.

Mounts From Random Drops
There are 21 Mounts that can be found by killing random mobs or opening random chests. Some of these Mounts can be found anywhere in the game, while others may only be found in certain areas. Many of these Mounts boil down to just pure luck. These Mounts do have low drop rates, but thankfully can be found pretty much anywhere.
Bloody Liquid
This Mount is obtained by defeating the Echo of Lilith. In order to find this boss, you need to be playing onWorld Tier 4.This means you’ll need to complete the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon while playing on World Tier 3.Only then can you move on to World Tier 4?
Brigand’s Mount
This is one of the Mounts that can be found anywhere in the game. This can drop from any mob or any chest.
Blood Bay Mount
The Blood Bay Mount can only be found in Kehjistan. You can find it in any mob or chest.
Buckskin Bay Mount
The Buckskin Bay Mount can only be found in Kehjistan. You can find it in any mob or chest.

The Marsh Roan Mount can be found in the Hawezar region. It can drop from any enemy or chest. It has also been known to drop fromHelltide Chests.
