More onThe Hinokami Chronicles

Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicleswas developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind theNaruto Ultimate Ninja Stormseries, and both games are very similar gameplay-wise. However, if you already tried outHinokami Chroniclesyourself, I won’t be teaching you anything by stating it’s clear the game had a very short development time.

The game got several free DLC characters post-release, but they’re all characters who were supposed to be playable from the start, as most appear in Story Mode. The Story Mode itself has underwhelming exploration segments as well, and screenplay which pales in comparison to the anime by Ufotable.

Hopefully a possible sequel, adapting beyond theMugen Train arc, will have higher ambitions, with more playable characters including most of the Hashira.

CyberConnect2 also recently released on all platformsFuuga: Melodies of Steel, an ambitious, original JRPG and a spiritual successor toTail ConcertoandSolatorobo. A Switch port of the .Hack//G.U. Last Recoderemaster is alsoreleasing on July 21, 2025.
