The launch lineup for the PS5 is still a bit murky. Other thanMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, we don’t know of many other PS5-exclusive titles that will be releasing later this year in proximity to the next-gen hardware. However, thanks to a new rating for an upcoming PS5 title, we might now have a better idea of what to expect in 2020.
Initially spotted byGematsu, the PS5 remake ofDemon’s Soulsfrom Bluepoint Games has apparently been rated over in Korea. Therating occurredpretty recently as well with it receiving a designation a week ago today on August 13.
So why does this matter even a little bit? “It’s just a game rating, after all,” you might be saying to yourself. Well, given the fact thatDemon’s Soulshas been rated at this point over in Korea might point to the fact that the game is set to launch later this year.
To date, the only other game that has been rated for PS5 in Korea is that ofSpider-Man: Miles Morales, which is set to arrive later in 2020. IfDemon’s Soulsis receiving its rating now as well, it might very well point to the game arriving in proximity toMiles Moralesand could end up being a PS5 launch title.
Obviously, Sony hasn’t confirmed any of this just yet though, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Thereveal trailer forDemon’s Soulsitself didn’t even list a broad release window, which led me to initially believe that the game might still be a bit far out. Plus, considering this is a remake of an older game, perhaps the Korean ratings board can just slap the same rating on the game that its original version had.
Whatever the case might be, I’ll keep my own fingers crossed thatDemon’s Soulswill be launching on PS5 later this year.Everything that we have seen of it so farlooks stellar and I would definitely snag a PS5 on day one purely to run through Bluepoint’s latest remake.
