James Gunn is setting up DC Comics for a great future ahead with releases already lined up for 2025. Over the last couple of years, DCU has faced a couple of upsets with the departures of various actors from the franchise. Henry Cavill was one individual who pulled out of DC’s roster due to a possible scheduling conflict.

However, Gunn had announced that David Corenswet would be assuming his position as Superman, back in 2023. The CEO of DC Studios went straight into business and announced that they plan on releasing a newSupermanmovie in 2025. While assuring that the upcoming movie has its own identity, he confirmed that he was majorly influenced by Donner and Reeve. According toCBR, he said,

I think that, you know, what we’re doing is different… It’s its own thing. But I’m definitely influenced by what Donner did with Superman, and what Christopher Reeve did with Superman, and Margot Kidder, who’s fantastic in the movie. She’s really the heart of it in a lot of ways.
Gunn confirmed he will bring in a few other DC heroes to joinDavid Corenswetas his supporting cast. He claimed that these additions “fit” the story he was portraying this time.
