There are a lot of side missions inDead Island 2that areeasy to miss. While some of them will have you running right into the path of a side character, there are others thatyou can easily missas you slay your way through the city and all of its sections.

Such is the casewith The Rav-Ages of Caustic-X, which can be picked up pretty early on in the game. This quest is simple once you do find it; you just have to know where to look in order to start it.
Starting The Mission
you’re able to pick up the quest right after youfinish the main quest, Michael Adler and the Holy Grail, which has you fighting through a movie studio and taking on a big bad zombie. Once you have rescued Emma’s assistant, you will get a call from Sam B., asking you to meet them in Beverly Hills. This conversation with Sam is what can make it easy to miss getting this quest.
As you leave the area of Monarch Studios, you will come to a small area right before the exit where you are likely still talking to Sam. What you might not hear is a voice coming over a radio nearby, and you are able to respond to something. Wait until your conversation with Sam is over, and then you will hear the radio call.Head over to the radio and respond. This will spark a conversation with Hanna, a student at VCLA, who is asking you to help her friend, Rav, out at the Halerpin Hotel.

Finishing The Quest
So it’s time to trek it back tothe Halperin Hotel, which you visited in order to complete the Call in the Cavalry mission right after leaving Emma’s mansion. You will work your wayback through Bel-Air and to the hotel. When you arrive in the area, you won’t have an exact marker to guide you. You just have to get in close to the hotel, and you will hear Rav calling out over the radio. Eventually, the game will tell you to meet him in the ballroom.
Enter the hotel and talk to Rav on the balcony above. He will explain that he ishere to collect dataon something that the military was working on at the hotel called Caustic-X. He will send you out to the back of the hotel to pick up the Caustic-X Shipment Receipt from an ambulance.
When you get out there, you will find a handful of normal zombies, along witha Crusher and a Slobber, both of which can prove to be a real pain to deal with at the same time. You can take your time and patiently whittle away at their health until they are both done, or you can just pass them, tank the damage from the poison around the ambulance, and grab the receipt without even having to deal with them.
Once you have it in hand, you need to head back into the hotel ballroom, where Rav has put a DJ set up. He needs you to distract the zombies while he does some research, so click that DJ set on, andget ready to fight. There will be a lot of zombies that come after you, but it isn’t that difficult thanks to many of them being explosive. With a couple of hits on most of them, you will trigger an icon with an exclamation point to appear over the zombies. This means you need to get away from them before they either blow up with explosives or shock. Doing this will help not only stop zombies in their tracks for a good amount of time to do some damage but also deal a good amount of damage to all the surrounding zombies. Eventually, Rav is ready to talk to you some more and he will ask you to help him do some more research.
For this part of the quest, he has you go to the hotel pool, which is full of Caustic-X. Your goal here is toknock zombies into the poolwith your kick and dish out enough damage for Rav’s research. you’re able to easily kick a few of them into the pool, and it only takes two or three for the objective to be reached. Just keep moving and aim for the ones who are already idling near the edge of the pool. Rav will soon tell you that he has enough and ask you to meet him back in the ballroom.
Do so, and he willthank you for your help. In return for your help, he will give you theRare Melee Liquidator Mod, which will Caustic Damage to your melee weapon, as well as a Caustic-X Bomb for yourCurveballs.
