According to the scooper, Cyclops andother X-Men in his universereportedly asked him to wear the suit always, which he refused. Now that he has lost all of them, he feels it is his responsibility to wear the suit.
Cyclops and the X-Men reportedly always begged this Logan to wear the yellow suit to fit in the group, but he never did.
