The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Timeis one of my all-time favorite games. It feels like a long time ago when we saw the gamerecreated in 2016 using the Unreal Engine 4, and since then I totally forgot it existed. However, DSOGaming has reminded me that it not only exists, but it is still being worked on with plans to continue into 2019.
Below you’ll find a video that is just under twenty-five minutes long and shows off the creator CryZENx playing through his remake of the start ofThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The video shows off the Kakariko Village to start, showing the detailed world looking stunning with lovely looking shadows, god rays, and bloom effects. You’re able to enter the villager’s houses, browse the shop, and communicate with the villagers as well.
The video then takes us to The Great Deku Tree where we see the cutscene play out before entering the giant wooden tree to complete the quest. All details are still intact and look lovely with it having a darker tone thanks to the improved lighting, bringing a new breath of life toThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
According to CryZENx the demo is available for download and includes the Temple of Time and Kakariko areas, although the video doesn’t show the Temple of Time area. You can however see footage of the Temple of Time by watchingthis video from February this year.I was unable to download the file myself as the Google Drive download has reached its maximum limit for 24 hours due to being so popular.
CryZENx states in the description of the below video that they plan to continue working on theThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Timeproject in 2019 and “Trying to continue the storyline next year”. For now, you may head over to theirPatreon pagewhich features the download link for the latest Version 3.0, however, it might take a while until the link works again, or CryZENx uploads the files to another platform.
