Now, over a year after its launch, Crytek revealed that the Remastered trilogy will be heading to Steam on November 17. It’s yet to be seen whether the developer would de-list the original versions of Crysis 2 and 3, as was the case with the original Crysis after the launch of its remastered version, which caused many fans to show negative feedback towards Crytek’s decision.
With a “Mixed” review score on Steam, some fans believe that Crysis Remastered wasn’t a faithful remaster of the original game as the developer removed some features and downgraded the visuals in certain areas. However, it was already a welcoming remaster to all console players hoping to play the entire series before the next iteration arrives.
Earlier this year, Crytek officially confirmed with a teaser trailer that it has started working onCrysis 4, the next mainline installment in the series over 9 years after the releasing Crysis 3. No details have been shared about the project so far, as it seems the game is still in the early stages of the development process.
Over these years, Crytek managed to reach significant success withHunt: Showdown, a multiplayer extraction-based PvP shooter that is already a popular choice on PC and consoles. However, Crysis 4 is probably the biggest project that Crytek has worked on since Ryse: Son of Rome. Crytek has not announced any target platforms for Crysis 4 so far, but PC will surely be the primary platform of the game.
