A psychological thriller light novel,Classroom Of The Elite,is written by Shogo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. The novel ran for 14 volumes from May 2015 to September 2019. After its success, the manga adaptation was taken into consideration, and Media Factory began its serialization in January 2016. The light novels and manga of theClassroom Of The Elite: Year 2are running, and the novel is currently on its 6th volume.

The anime adaptation of the manga started in July 2017 and ran till September 2017 with a total of 12 episodes. After that, season 2 was put on hold until now. Season one of the series was well-received, and the fans were waiting for any news regarding the release of season 2.

A visual for the sequel made by Japanese illustrator Tomoseshunsaku is also revealed. The visual shows the major characters from the anime, including Arisu Sakayanagi, Airi Sakura, Kakeru Ryuen, and a few more.

OnMarch 6th, 2022, at 20:00 JST, a special program called Anime Project Presentation will be aired. More information regarding the sequel ofClassroom Of The Elitewill be released in this program. This special program will be hosted by Japanese actor Shoya Chiba, who voiced the character of Kiyotaka Aykoji, and Yurika Kubo, who voiced Kikyo Kushida.
