Chroma Elixir Shardare an incredibly important part ofClair Obscur: Expedition 33. Since you use it as a healing device when you aren’t able to rest at an Expedition flag, these small vials could be the only thing keeping you from entering a fight at a severe disadvantage.
Most of the Chroma Elixir Shards can be found in the main areas you’ll need to visit, so I recommend you grab them while you’re there.Even if you miss one, it isn’t too big a deal, you’ll just need to backtrack to grab them.

Since all of them are in Paint Cages, they’re usually off the beaten path, minus the first one.Hunting them down can be a hassle if you’re not up for exploring every nook and cranny of every location.
I’ll go through each one individually so you may easily locate them. If you’re looking to complete someachievements, you’ll need to find these. As a bonus, several of these Chroma Elixir Shards are near other collectibles.

Chroma Elixir Shard One
Flying Waters
This one is a gimme. It’ll be housed in the very first Paint Cage you ever see in Flying Waters.
You’ll enter Flying Waters and be treated to a lovely cutscene. Follow the path forward, and you’ll get a prompt from the game about Paint Cages.

Find and shoot all the locks to get your reward. This will be how it works for each of them, but the others won’t be as easy to find.
Chroma Elixir Shard Two
Ancient Sanctuary
This one is a little annoying since it’s located in a confusing early game area. You’ll find this one in the Ancient Sanctuary while you’re on your way to the Gestral Village.
You’ll want to follow the general path until you hit the Expedition flag for the Giant Bell Alley. You’re welcome to explore each twist and turn here, but if you’re just looking for the Chroma Elixir, these images should help you out.

After you’ve shot all the locks, head back out of the small area and turn left. You’ll have to do a little platforming here if you want your reward.
