Despite its incredibly strong launch,Monster Hunter Wildshas had a lot of issues since then, and Capcom is scrambling to get its players back.

The publisher announced in a social mediapostthat they have revisedtheir plans for Title Updates 3 and 4, namely that the planned expansion to the endgame content with more high-difficulty quests will be releasing earlier than originally scheduled.

Instead of coming as part of Title Update 3 in late September, these new additions will instead be part of Ver.1.021, which has had its own release pushed back slightly to August 13,alongside a wider range of weapon balance adjustments than originally planned.

Addressing Players’ Complaints

The reputation of Monster Hunter Wilds has plummeted since release, and it currently sits with an “Overwhelmingly Negative” recent review rating on Steam, with only 14% positive reviews in the last 30 days, while its all-time rating has dropped to “Mixed.”

It has alsolost over 98% of its playerbaseafter its record-breaking sales around launch.

Most of the complaints are focused on performance issues, which have beenplaguing the game since launch, the lack of significant endgame content, and the overall lower difficulty compared to previous games in the series.

Hopefully Ver.1.021 will be able to address all of these issues to some extent, and the “Various Improvements and Adjustments” scheduled for the update will include some performance fixes to go with the endgame expansion.

Monster Hunter Wilds

The backlash over Monster Hunter Wilds reached a point whereCapcom threatened legal action earlier this monthover online harassment directed at its employees.

Along with the slight delay of Ver.1.021 from early August to August 13, Capcom is also extendingthe game’s summer Flamefete eventto that date, in case the prospect of Gemma in a bikini is enough to get you back into the game before the update.

Hopefully Capcom will still be able to salvage Monster Hunter Wilds’ reputation and bring it back from its current state with these upcoming updates, and bring back some of the players it lost.
