After not receiving the ransom for the stolen confidential information of developer Insomniac Games, the ransomware group Rhysida leaked all the information. While most of the details are about the developers’ projects, other Sony PlayStation studios have also been affected, including Bluepoint.
Bluepoint Games has become the latest victim of this massive leak as their new project has leaked. The leak shows the concept artwork of the new unannounced title from the developer and more information about it.
Bluepoint Games’ Unannounced Title Has Been Leaked
The leaked documents revealed a lot of confidential information about several of PlayStation studios but mainly Insomniac as the roadmap of the developer was revealed including the announced and unannounced games as well as their potential release dates. Bluepoint is one of the few other affected studios.
Bluepoint Games is the developer behind the acclaimed remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls and was acquired by Sony, joining the long list of PS Studios. The studio soon started to develop an original game, but nothing has been known about the game yet. However, before the studio could announce it, the leaked documents have revealed its new game.
Among the over a million files that have been leaked, two slides from Bluepoint Games are included showing the concept artwork of its next game. The unannounced game looks like a fantasy adventure title and the artwork shows a floating in-game world set in a fantasy setting with beautiful colorful visuals. The artwork features in-game characters, birds, beautiful trees, and more.
The other slide shows information about the company such as its founding year, when it was acquired by SIE, the number of employees, and its current project. The company currently employs 80 people, and its next project is dubbed“Original Content”,meaning that the game is not a remake or remaster of any other game, but an original title.
The leaked concept artwork is also connected with the openings at the company for art design roles and was looking for candidates with knowledge of armor and weapons so there is a possibility that the next game could be soulslike, but that is just speculation at this point. The developer teased the game and has said that it is working hard at the game but has revealed nothing about it so far.
The remakes of classic games,Shadow of the ColossusandDemon’s Soulshave been highly popular among players and critics alike and have been praised for gameplay, visuals, animation, and all other overall improvements over the original titles.
The game’s improved mechanics and updated graphics have been the main points of appreciation. The great reception of these titles led to Sony acquiring the studio and the next game could be a big hit as well since the game would be an original title.
This news is also in contrast to 2021 reports stating that the developer has been working on multipleMetal Gear Solidremakes. There were also rumors that the company is working on two projects, one is an original title, and the other is a remake. However, there is no mention of any remake in the leaked slide so there could be chances that the remake is off the table.
While the leaks have revealed Bluepoint’s plans, it isn’t the only PlayStation studio that is the victim of this as Guerrilla Games has also been affected by this. TheHorizonmultiplayer game from the developer has also been leaked with the leaked documents and it arguably suggests that Insomniac might be assisting Guerrilla to develop the multiplayer game that was announced back in 2022.
