The second cour of Blue Lock season one has finally begun, bringing the Second Selection arc, where we are introduced to the most elite soccer players of Blue Lock - Rin Itoshi, Jyubei Aryu, and Aoshi Tokimitsu. Even the gifted players like Nagi and Bachira feel quite helpless against the trio, and Isagi realizes that there’s a huge gap in skills between him and Rin. With Isagi and his team losing, he and Nagi are left one step behind, while Bachira is selected by the winning team. Now it’s time to see how Isagi works to hone his skills and what progress the others are making.
What Happened Previously On Blue Lock?
The 3 vs. 3 match finally starts and with proper communication, Isagi’s team is able to score the first goal very early on in the game. Suddenly, Rin calls them unworthy and says that they are turning their back to a soldier with a gun. He then shoots the ball from midfield and scores a goal, surprising everyone. Isagi asks if he too plays soccer to fulfill his dream, to which Rin replies that for him, there’s no reason to exist if it’s not for playing soccer.
The match starts again, and Aryu manages to steal the ball and score a goal using his high-jumping skills and accurate shooting. Bachira approaches the goal at full speed using his dribbling skills, and Tokimitsu feels anxious about it. As a result, Tokimitsu uses his incredible strength and speed to score the third goal. Isagi realizes that Team Red has scored the goals based on their special weapons, but they lack teamwork. On the contrary, they have better teamwork, and he decides to use it to win the match.

To tackle Team Red, they form a triangle formation, passing the ball to each other and approaching the goal. As Isagi prepares to score a goal, Rin appears before him. Noticing the situation, Bachira passes the ball to Nagi instead, and he scores the second goal for Team White. While Isagi and his teammates are discussing strategies, Rin taunts them that they never learn and shoots the ball from midfield again. However, Isagi saves the ball this time, but Team Red gets a corner. Rin takes the shot, and to everyone’s surprise, he shoots a vertical spin shot, scoring a goal without passing. The score is now 4-2, and Team Red only needs one more goal to win.
Team White uses the same triangle formation to pass the ball around. Isagi takes a pass from Bachira and decides to take a shot, but Rin is there to counter him, which surprises Isagi. At this moment, Isagi realizes that it was Rin who was controlling the field all along and not him. And by letting them score the first goal, he made him realize that everything was going according to his plans. Rin tackles everyone and scores the fifth goal, and Team Red wins the match. Team Red chooses Bacira as their fourth player for his overwhelming passing skills. Bachira joins them but tells Isagi to win him again. With this, Ream Red moves forward while Nagi and Isagi are sent back to the second stage.
