Silent Hill 2 RemakedeveloperBloober Teamtook to X (Formerly Twitter) on Sunday to try tocalm the nervesof fans who are apprehensive about the progress of the highly anticipated horror title, but reactions from some fans of the series seem to indicate that the message may have done more harm than good.
Posting the message as an image, Bloober Team asked its fans for patience with the developer, as well as publisherKonami, stating “we are confident that the wait will be worthwhile” when Konami begins to release more information about the game.

Silent Hill 2 Remake’s “Special Origin Story” Can Only Mean One Thing, And It’s Not Pyramid Head
A Best Buy listing has caused panic in the Silent Hill community, but it’s actually good news. Here’s why.
“On behalf of our development team, we would like to clarify that the production is progressing smoothly and in accordance with our schedule,” the message states, in part. “We understand that many players around the world are eagerly anticipating news about the game, and we appreciate your dedication.”

Of course, the format that Bloober Team used to send the message was also called into question by some fans, as the white text on a black background image is reminiscent of what many in the gaming community have come to know as thedeveloper apology post. Others responding to the message have accused the game of having slid into “development hell” as an explanation for why we haven’t seen more screenshots or footage at this stage of development.
On the other hand, several people responding to Bloober Team’s post defended the developer but pointed the finger of accusation at Konami for the lack of marketing of Silent Hill 2 Remake thus far. X user @angel_th3047 stated “It’s insane that Bloober Team has to publish this just to keep people calm. How do people not know it’s the publisher that manages marketing?”, while @deadlyonex simply stated “Thank you Bloober for doing Konami’s work.”

Fans got their first official look at the remakein a trailerthat was released in October 2022 (although screenshots had leaked online a month prior), and Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babienosaid in March 2023that the game was “technically ready,” but the team clarified a few days later that his statementdidn’t mean the game was ready for release.
While Silent Hill 2 Remake is planned to launch as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive, no date for its release has been announced yet.
