Sega revealed in this week’s Famitsu Magazine that a new game in the Blade Arcus fighting game series is coming for PS4 and Switch. The game is titledBlade Arcus Rebellion from Shining,and will launch in Japan on March 14th.

Blade Arcusis a tag 2D fighting game series featuring multipleShininggames with character designs by Takayuki Tanaka, such asShining BladeandShining Arts. Blade Arcus Rebellion from Shiningwill add characters from the latestShininggame,Shining Resonance Refrain.In total, over 20 characters will be playable, including Yuma, Kirika, Sonia, Rinna, Zest and fan favorite Excela. Each character will have unique skills too.

A Limited Edition was also announced, containing a copy ofBlade Arcus Rebellion From Shining, a Visual book, a Drama CD, an OST CD containing new songs by Soichiro Hoshi, a DLC code to download a bonus costume for Kirika and an A3 poster.

The previous game,Blade Arcus from Shining EX,launched for PS3 and PS4 in Japan, and on Steam in the west, under the nameBlade Arcus from Shining: Battle Arena.So it’s not impossible this new game comes to the west one day too. Meanwhile,Shining Resonance Refrainis currently available in the west for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Last but not least,Blade Arcus Rebellion from Shiningwill include an online mode, something that the previous game lacked, though the Steam release did add one.

The Limited Edition’s box cover illustration will be handled by Takayuki Tanaka. A gallery mode will be included, allowing you to look over various illustrations he made for the series too. Moreover, the game’s producer Makoto Suzuki commented on how the current worldwide hype around esports and fighting games is what led them to make this new game and include an online mode.
