The data came from Circana (formerly NPD), which revealed the best-selling premium games on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch for January 2025.

A new Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth mod on PC has added Cloud’s iconic outfit from Kingdom Hearts.
It’s worth noting that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s release on Steam in January proved to be a good move by Square Enix, as it also boosted the sale of FF7 Remake. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth placed third overall on the monthly chart after placing at 56th place in December last year (before it was released on PC). The Final Fantasy 7 Remake & Rebirth Twin Pack ranked 16th overall in January 2025.
As for new games, Donkey Kong Country Returns is the only new release to appear on the monthly top 20 best-sellers chart, with the game’s physical sales enough to give it the 8th spot.
