10 Best Plot Twists In Cinema

The best plot twists are the ones you don’t see coming, and this list is full of the best plot twists in all Cinema.

M. Night And Nicholas Sparks Are A Wild Pair

On the one hand,Nicholas Sparksis no stranger to cinema. 11 of his novels have been adapted into movies. The most popular of which isThe Notebook, the film that helped make Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling household names. He’s one of the best-selling romance writers of all time.

On the other hand, you wouldn’t expect an author so steeped in formulaic romance novels to do something as daring as teaming with horror auteur M. Night Shyamalan. But maybe that’s just where Sparks is at in his career—he’s ready for a new challenge.

Mysterio Portrayed By Jake Gyllenhaal In Spider-Man: Far From Home

For M. Night, this feels like par for the course. His entire career is based on surprising twists and turns, whether that’s shocking reveals at the end of a movie or never knowing how good (Split) or bad (The Last Airbender) an M. Night movie will be. The most consistent thing about Shyaman’s career is that you never know what to expect.

This isn’t the first time a filmmaker and novelist have collaborated on dual projects like this. Back in the 1960s, Stanley Kubrick and Isaac Asimov jointly developed the story of2001: ASpaceOdyssey, then each made their own version in their respective fields.

Jake Gyllenhaal And M. Night Working Together Is Destiny

M. Night is no stranger to A-list actors. He’s worked with Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix, Will Smith, James McAvoy, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

And while Jake Gyllenhaal is an A-list actor, he’s often avoided blockbuster films. He didn’t make his name in a superhero movie, then go on to do other things. He made his name by elevating low-to-mid-budget artsy films likeDonnie Darko,Brokeback Mountain,Prisoners,Nightcrawler, andNocturnal Animals. Sure, heappearedinSpider-Man: Far From Home, but that’s one big-budget film in the last 15 years.

Given his classic leading-man looks and penchant for the bizarre, Gyllenhaal would be the perfect casting choice for the M. Night/Sparks collaboration. He has all the charm you could want but the ability to go as unhinged or intense as the story needs.

Currently, this is just a sourced rumor that Deadline has gone on record with. Hopefully it pans out, because I’d love to see what these three come up with.
