From the first time you boot upBattlefield 2042, you’ll have access to a wide variety of Specialists, Weapons, Gadgets, and Throwables. Choosing the best loadout can be challenging with several categories, options, and combat mechanics. To help jumpstart your Battlefield 2042 experience and get you right into the fight, these are the ten best loadouts for beginners.

Before playing your next game, visit the Classes tab by pressing R1 from the home screen. In this tab, you can review loadout options and preselect favorite packages for each Specialist. Set up the recommendations below, and you’ll have ten options for powerful and easy-to-use gameplay styles.

Rao is the only recommended sniper, the sole Recon Specialist on this list. Rao is the best option if you’re a fan of the ranged, stealthy playstyle of a deadly sniper. His Specialist Gadget Cyberwarefare Suite allows you to hack enemy vehicles, preventing them from using their weapons.

Battlefield 2042 Rao

Rao’s Specialist Trait will grant you Enemy Spot bonuses whenever taking damage, giving you a clear vision of anyone trying to take you out. When playing Rao, try the DXR-1. This Sniper Rifle has the highest base damage of the starting options, which is key to winning duels against other Recons.

Assault Class Specialists are the default characters that are present in every FPS game. These Specialists gain three extra magazines when deploying with any Assault Rifle. Also equipped with a Med Pen, Assault Specialists can self-administer a health regen boost.

Battlefield 2042 McKay

McKay stands out from the other Specialists with his Grappling Hook and ability to move faster when aiming down sights & while on ziplines. When you master these movement abilities, McKay is a top-tier Specialist. Combined with the M5A3, an easy-to-pick-up & well-rounded Primary Weapon, this is the standard-issue FPS loadout.

With an Angel nearby, no team should run out of bullets. When he revives a teammate, Angel’s ability Trauma Specialist will resupply the risen ally with primary and secondary ammo. And if that’s not enough, Support Specialists can also drop Ammo Crates that resupply allies.

Battlefield 2042 Angel

When your team needs more than a resupply, Angel can also drop a Loadout Crate on the battlefield. This unique Specialist Gadget gives access to make loadout changes without having to respawn. For players that want lots of utility, making the entire team stronger, pick Angel.

If you liked the extra magazines and Med Pen that McKay has, but want to fly around the battlefield in a flying squirrel suit, then you need to try Sundance. This Assault Specialist can deploy a unique Wingsuit when skydiving or base jumping.

The CW-2A Wingsuit allows Sundance to slice through the air. Traveling faster, further, and safer than the clunky parachutes that the rest of the Specialists use. If the most visceral movement mechanic in the game isn’t enough for you, Sundance also comes equipped with multiple grenade payloads to bring the fun.

Battlefield 2042 Crawford

The first Engineer on this list, Crawford, is the mechanic of Battlefield 2042. Crawford repairs damaged vehicles and gadgets faster than the other Engineers with his Critical Repair trait. His Specialist Gadget drops a Mounted Vulcan stationary mini-gun that can melt infantry and light vehicles.

If you spend your time hanging out of Jeeps and defending sectors with heavy guns, Crawford may be the best choice of Specialists. His unique abilities are strong and the Engineer class gains improved accuracy with LMGs while crouched or prone.

Similar to Angel, Irish is a Support Specialist that offers a ton of utility to the team. Fortification System allows Irish to create cover or intercept explosives, while his Specialist Trait replenishes Gadget ammunition for friends that you revive.

Support Specialists also have an increased proficiency with SMGs, drawing them out to fire faster than other classes. So if you play Angel, Irish, or the other Support Specialist on this list, use the strongest SMG, the PP-29. This gun is a fun and wild ride, that you’ll never want to put down.

For anyone having trouble with the fast-paced gameplay of Battlefield 2042, Boris is the best Specialist to slow things down. Like Crawford, Boris is an Engineer proficient in LMGs, best played by crouching or laying down prone before firing. But when you’re staying still to get the LMG accuracy bonus, you’ll need someone or something to watch your back.

Boris can deploy an SG-36 Sentry Gun that automatically targets enemies, and his Specialist Trait makes all nearby Sentry Guns more effective. The master of holding a site, Boris, can reign down LMG terror on anyone in front of him and then place his sentry gun to cover his 6.

The best Assault Specialist for beginners, or anyone else for that matter, is Zain. With the best Specialist Trait in the game, Zain recovers health after each kill. This allows you to chain combat scenarios together rather than hiding behind cover while you regen health.

Perfectly paired with the M5A3, Zain is the best Specialist for anyone who has a heavy trigger finger. If you like to sprint into the fray, unload your magazine, and never stop moving forward, you should play Zain. If you find a situation that your M5A3 can’t handle, clear out infantry with the XM370A or destroy tanks with the C5 Explosives.

When you’re on foot in Battlefield 2042, it can be terrifying to see a tank show up at your location. Tanks can dominate games with their large health pools and incredible damage. If the enemy team has vehicle superiority, don’t worry; just spawn Lis.

Lis can equip a G-84 TGM that reveals nearby enemy vehicles that are damaged or hacked and launch a controllable anti-vehicle missile. When that’s not enough, deploy Anti-Tank Mines in sneaky high-traffic areas and just wait to see the multi-kills roll in with each vehicle’s destruction.

Reviving teammates is just about the most useful thing you can do in Battlefield 2042. The risen ally gets to rejoin the fight, and your team saves the Reinforcement score by not giving up a kill. While all Support Specialists can revive teammates, no one keeps the team alive as efficiently as Falck.

When reviving a teammate, Falck makes use of Combat Surgeon and provides an increased health recharge for the fallen ally. Additionally, Falck can shoot her S21 Surette Pistol to heal allies from range, drop health packs on the ground, or heal herself. If you play the combat medic role, Falck provides all the tools you’ll ever need to keep everyone in good health.
