How To Get Scourge Accretion
Scourge Accretion is one of the primary materials toupgrade your weapons to Level 3, especially your sword. This material, however, cannot be found by exploring the wilderness.Scourge Accretion only drops after killing Scourge bosses. These are giant creatures formed by a pile of miserable ghosts.
The first Scourge that you get to kill in the game isthe Beast. You will face this giant creature when you reachThe Hunters Campand follow the mainline quest until you meetThickskin Newsmith, and then you are tasked with killing a beast.
Following the trail of the beast itself is a long quest, but when you eventually find the hostile creature, you will need to defeat it in three phases. During each phase, one part of the Scourge will glow green, which indicates itsweak spot, where you may deal the most damage. These weak spots are the beast’s head, right hand, and left leg, respectively.
You are highly suggested touse your gunduring the fight, as it can target the weak spot much more easily while remaining at a safe distance from the beast. However, you also need to keep an eye out for the other ghosts that will spawn during the fight in the form of possessed wolves.
Once the beast is killed and the cutscene is finished, you will earn3 Scourge Accretion, which is enough to upgrade your weapon and outfit to Level 3. Later in the game, you will face more Scourge bosses that will drop more of the red material.
