Warning: This article contains spoilers for the ending of Baldur’s Gate 3.Baldur’s Gate 3, like any good RPG today, truly sucks players into the game’s world. By the time you reach the end, you want to know the fate of your favorite characters and creatures. Whether you want to see an ending where everyone is happy, or everything is in shambles, the ending is important.

One thing to know about Baldur’s Gate 3 is thatthere are a lot of endings, and some leftfans pretty divided. Thankfully, Larian released an update that added epilogue scenes to the game. Here’s a guide to understanding these epilogue scenes.

What Are Epilogue Scenes?

The epilogue scenes were added with the Patch #5 update. These scenes feature your party back at camp six months after the final battle. In the scene, Withers has organized a party so that everyone in the camp can catch up and see each other after their victorious triumph. These new epilogue scenes added almost 3,000 more lines of dialogue to the game. The choices that you made throughout the game will lead to how your epilogue scene plays out. You may see a ton of your favorite characters, you may see a few, or you may see those characters in a different light entirely.

For instance, ifShadowheart serves Selune or Sharwill determine her demeanor at the party. If you played as theDark Urge, you may have to watch the party from afar, depending on whether or not you gave into your urges. Another example is, depending on what happens to Karlach during the final battle, you may either see her in person or read about her via a letter. Something else that is interesting is that even if there are characters who don’t make it to the party (which, once again, depends on your choices), you may still obtain letters from them to see how they are doing. You can also find articles from the Baldur’s Mouth Gazette which detail what characters have been doing since the defeat of the Netherbrain.

If you did the ending where you take over the Netherbrain, you will not have any epilogue scene at all. Every other ending possible will have an epilogue scene.

How Do You Access Them After Beating The Game?

Thankfully, accessing the epilogue is extremely easy. If you have already beaten the game, you just need to load up one of your saves. If you haven’t beaten the game, the epilogue will come directly after the final battle. The epilogue scene does well at showing players how their choices directly impacted those they were closest to during the game. Each character’s fate rests in your hands.
