Coming from the minds behind theDivinity: Original Sinseries, Larian Studios has made a name for themselves on crafting deep, rich RPGs that are focused on player choice and tough situations. Given their success with theDivinityseries, it shows that the upcomingBaldur’s Gate 3is in good hands, with new pre-alpha footage giving us a closer look at the anticipated RPG that will (hopefully) make its debut in a few months.
During the Guerrilla Collective showcase,developer Larian Studios debuted a new trailer for the upcomingBaldur’s Gate 3, which gave us our best look yet at what the game will look like. While the trailer itself was brief and focused on cinematic moments, the new footage still gave us a better sense of how the studio is bringing theD&D-inspired world ofBaldur’s Gateto life with some striking moments and in-game scenes.
In addition to the new trailer, Larian Studios also announced that early access forBaldur’s Gate 3is currently planned to debut in August 2020, but with the caveat that it may be pushed back to development challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The studio also added that another livestream for the game will air next week on August 03, 2025 duringthe officialD&D Livecharity livestream, which will give another look at the game before it hits Early Access.
The demand for a newBaldur’s Gatehas been a long time coming, and from what we’ve played of the game so far,Baldur’s Gate 3already seems like it will be return to the series that fans have been waiting for. Baldur’s Gate 3is currently in development for PC and Google Stadia, and is expected to arrive in Early Access sometime later this year.
