While Larian has beenpromising the Photo Modefor a while now, most people assumed that no new content was coming to the game. The fact that Baldur’s Gate 3 has official mod support means fans can just make new races and classes if they wish.

A new post on the Baldur’s Gate 3Steampage has announced that Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 8 will arrive in 2025, though no date was given. This update willadd new subclasses, a Photo Mode, and cross-play.
What Subclasses are Coming in Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8?
The Barbarian will get the Path of the Giants, making them even stronger and allowing them to throw allies.
The Bard will get the College of Glamour, giving them access to even more charm spells and abilities.
The Cleric is getting the Death Domain, allowing them to deal even more necrotic damage.
Druids get the Circle of Stars, which allows them to use additional astral-themed powers alongside their spells.
Fighters are getting the Arcane Archer subclass, which can empower their bow with spells.
The Monk is getting the Drunken Master, actually giving the alcohol intoxication rules a use, as they get stronger the more intoxicated they become.

These subclasses deserve more love for the amount of fun that they are.
Paladins will get theOath of the Crown, giving them law-themed powers that buff their allies.
Rangers get the Swarmkeeper, allowing them to summon bees into battle to sting their foes.
Rogues are getting the Swashbuckler, who possesses fancy combat actions in the same vein as the Battle Master Fighter.
Sorcerers will get the Shadow Magic subclass, allowing them to wield darkness in battle.
Warlocks are receiving the Hexblade, a powerful combat-oriented class that is popular in tabletop Dungeons & Dragons.
Finally, theWizard is getting Bladesinging, allowing them to fight, dance, and cast spells all at once.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is also getting anextensive Photo Mode, with numerous filters and poses for players to use. Cross-play and cross-progression are coming to all platforms.
Larian has given fans an amazing present to be excited for. The studio could easily have turned the subclasses into DLC and charged for it, but the fact it’s giving away all this content for free shows just how awesome everyone there is. It seems like 2025 is going to be the year of reinstalling Baldur’s Gate 3… assuming it was ever deleted.
