According toNetflix,Avatar: The Last Airbender, the live-action series, is dominating the platform and has risen to the top of the list of the top 10 TV shows for the week of February 19–25, 2024. Released on Thursday, February 22, the series attracted 21.2 million viewers, who logged 153.4 million hours of viewing time.

It made it to first place on the 92 countries’ list of the Top 10. This result exceeded that of the previous live-action adaption on the site,One Piece, which received 18.5 million views in its first four days of release in September of last year.

Not only did the series outperform Netflix’s previous live-action anime adaptations, but it also cemented its position as the top show on the platform globally. As a result of the success of these live-action series, Netflix has been capitalizing on the popularity and large fan base of the anime industry and has achieved yet another victory.

Avatar: The Last Airbender’sviewership had a 15% increase from the premiere of the live-action adaptation seriesOne Piece. Between August 28 and September 10,One Piecetopped the weekly global Netflix chart, appearing among the top 10 in 93 countries and at the top in 46 others. In its first week, 18.5 million viewers watched 140 million hours of the show.

Although,Avatar: The Last Airbenderhas been leading the race in its initial week, the overall stats of the series will determine whether it performed better thanOne Piecelive-action or not. Irrespective of the race, both series have amassed a huge viewership and have indicated that the love for live-action series is growing day by day.
