Austin Butler’s Agents Wanted Him to Be Human Torch
Ever since Marvel Studios planned for aFantastic Fourreboot, they have faced major setbacks with casting and production. They lost renowned actors like John Krasinski to other projects andChris Evansto his MCU role as Captain America. Thus, Marvel had been looking for actors to fill in the roles of Reed Richards and Johnny Storm among others.
Witnessing Marvel’s hunt for actors to fill in those roles for their upcomingFantastic Fourreboot, back in 2022, Austin Butler made headlines for allegedly campaigning for the role of Human Torch. The character that was once played by Chris Evans, was apparently being eyed by Butler’s agents, for the actor.

This information about Austin Butler allegedly running for Human Torch was reported byJeff SneiderduringTheHot Micpodcast. Sneider revealed that he had heard Butler’s agents would be “putting him up for Human Torch” right when Marvel began casting the leads.

Although this rumor aboutAustin Butlercampaigning for Human Torch was never confirmed and eventually turned into a false alarm, fans got excited when Jeff Sneider revealed it back in 2022. Following the swirl of rumors, fans even began imagining the actor in the iconic role that once belonged to Chris Evans.

Soon Marvel fans came up with their artworks that reimagined Austin Butler in the role of Johnny Storm aka Human Torch. Donning the blue suit theElvisactor was spotted in an artwork posted by Josh under the usernameClements.ink,on Instagram. Thereafter, myriads of artworks came to the limelight that replaced Evans with Butler as the next Human Torch.
However, the rumors subsided soon, since Marvel didn’t address any of those fan-arts or fan-castings. Eventually,Kevin Feigeinformed fans about the upcoming reboot that is set to hit the theatres in 2025. With Pedro Pascal playing the role of Reed Richards, the movie is set to bring in a new cast for each role. But unfortunately, Austin Butler is not on the list.
