Birds In Attack on Titan
Birds and their nature have been one of the most recurring motifs in the series, from several pieces of music referring to birds being caged, to the Survey Corp often being associated with birds. The Wings of Freedom is not only their symbol but also a metaphor as to how birds are the most free creatures who can fly anywhere they wish, like the Survey Corp do with their ODM Gear and persistent bravery. Birds were also significant in the Final Season, as Falco Grice was shown to have a connection to them from the start to the point of him becoming a winged Jaw Titan, thanks to his power being granted by Zeke’s spinal fluid.

Paths Eren witnessed every major event in history not through the eyes of his younger self, as he did not witness most of it, and not even through the eyes of Eldians, but through the free-flying birds that witnessed the Titan Curse unfold throughout two thousand years. And across time, his last will was etched into a bird, wrapping that scarf around Mikasa one last time.
