As one of the anticipated indie projects for 2021,Atomic Heartis a gorgeous-looking first-person shooter that was originally revealedback in 2018, however, the game hasn’t received a release window yet. Recently, the developer updated the game’sSteam pagewith a little bit of new information.
Atomic Heartis set inan alternative universewhere the Soviet Union has survived after World War II and the technological progression has changed the face of the world, at least in the Soviet Union. Mass production of robots for different purposes has given a new face to the industrial territories, which is your field of investigation in the game.
Within the lush nature ofthe Soviet Union, you will find your way through a corrupted facility to find out what has caused robots to start acting weirdly. What makes your journey dangerous is the fact that every robot, even the peaceful ones, has a combat program in its memory which allows it to turn intoa deadly enemyin case of a war.
When it comes to gameplay,Atomic Heartis a mixture of first-person shooter and RPG genres. The developers haven’t specifically revealed various gameplay mechanics so far, but at least we know that there will be a crafting system in the game to make weapons out of multiple stuff that you find during your explorations.
Atomic Heartwill feature an open-world area including lush forests, vast outdoors, and complicated underground facilities with a lot of sections and districts to discover. Thanks to Unreal Engine 4, the game looks gorgeous in the trailers, and Mundfish aims to launch it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC on an unannounced date. The game will benefit from ray-tracing features on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions. The PC version will additionally support DLSS technology as well.
