The 24th game released under the Assassin’s Creed banner since 2007 (although the numbering gets a little fuzzy after the second entry), Valhalla places you in the role of a Viking named Eivor in ninth-century England and includes mythological content in which you’ll attempt to earn a place among the Norse gods. Unlike earlier games in the franchise, it plays more like an action RPG than a standard stealth action title.
The site does not specifically list whether the free access period will also grant access to the expansion DLC, the final of which, The Last Chapter, released on December 6. Regardless of whether the DLC is included, its unlikely that anyone will be able to see everything the game has to offer in the limited window of time. Valhalla was a massive undertaking for Ubisoft, with a base game main story stretched across more than 50 hours and side activities that at least doubled it, so the free access weekend may be a smart business move to get players who passed on the title at launch hooked and have them buy the game to finish it up.
The next entry in the main series,Assassin’s Creed Mirage, isscheduled for releasethis coming spring and willtake place in Baghdad20 years before the events of Valhalla
