During Episode 9 of Season 10, the host of the show, Henry Louis Gates, disclosed that DNA analysis conducted by the show’s team revealed that Johansson is Douglas’“DNA cousin.”
He further explained,

“Michael and Scarlett share identical stretches of DNA on four different chromosomes, all of which appear on Scarlett’s maternal lines, which stretch back to Jewish communities in eastern Europe.”
