Ghost of Tsushima2 could happen, the first one was a success for PlayStation, an original IP that brought every kind of new mechanics and gameplay. The studio behind the Infamous franchise, Sucker Punch, was in charge of this project.
Jin Sakai, a fierceless warrior who survived the Mongol invasion of Japan, has the mission of saving Tsushima, his birthplace, from the Mongols. But there is no other way to do it in a dishonorable manner for a samurai, namely through stealth. Ghost of Tsushima 2 may be on its way.
Is Ghost of Tsushima Coming?
The first game involving our samurai hero, who will do anything to save his island, was released back in July 2020. Almost four years ago. A considerable amount of time, if you take, for example, the time between bothMarvel’s Spider-Manentries; they were released with a five-year difference. Sucker Punch didn’t confirm or deny that they were working on a new project or a direct sequel toGhost of Tsushima.
This kind of announcement will be perfect for the State of Play, taking place tomorrow. Games likeStellar BladeandRise of the Roninhave already confirmed their presence at the event. But PlayStation talks about more than 15 games being shown in the presentation. They also post on their social media that talented developers from all over the world will be presenting their games. There are other games that may be shown, but this sequel has all the details to be introduced.
One of the biggest hints about this upcoming possible sequel is the listing job on the Sucker Punch official website. Back in October of last year, they were looking for a Senior Combat Designer and Technical Combat Designer with the following description:“must have played Ghost of Tsushima and understand its core gameplay systems.” They also wrote, Additionally, candidates will be required to“prototype, polish and balance: Player abilities, combat actions and progression items.”This is thecomplete listof the current job offers on the Sucker Punch website.
The best new IP from Sucker Punch
Besides an OK reception from players for the PlayStation exclusive Infamous saga, Sucker Punch went all out with the release ofGhost of Tsushima. This title earned the studio a high level of respect and reputation. In 2020, the game was nominated for Game of the Year. On Metacritic,Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cuthas an overall score of 87, the best score for a game from this studio ever.
Sucker Punch confirmed theGhost of Tsushimamovie. This production has the director of John Wick, Chad Stalhelski, in charge. He is very excited about the project, which will be the fourth IP recently adapted by PlayStation Productions. Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Gran Turismo.
Ghost of Tsushimais already available on PS4 and PS5.
