Though, one of the coolest aspects ofApexis its attention to visual style. The game weaves in small details in its design, fleshing out its characters with little nods to their stories. OneApexplayer discovered an especially cool detail on Mad Maggie, revealing just how committed to detailApex Legendsis.
Mad Maggie is Apex Legend’s latest character, joining the fray in the game’s Season 12. She’s also a certified badass and an"uncompromising freedom fighter,“taking an Offensive position on the team.
One of the character’s many cosmetics includes a slick pair of sunglasses, which revealed an astounding detail in the game. If players pay attention during the Legend Select Screen, they can spot a reflection of the map in Mad Maggie’s sunglasses.
The detail was originally pointed out by r/HolyRamenEmperor, who tested out different maps to see if the reflection truly does change. Going fromKing’s Canyon to Olympus, then to Storm Point, they confirmed that the glasses clearly change depending on the map.
The King’s Canyon glasses display the rocks and trees of the map, while Olympus shows what looks like a Respawn Point. Storm Point is clearly recognizable in the reflection, with the expanse of water stretching before Mad Maggie. Likely, this is because the game’s map loads before the launch sequence plays, allowing for the Mad Maggie detail here to shine.
Overall, it’s an awesome little detail that shows just how much work went into this game. The care taken to breathe life into these legends is astounding, and makes this game all the more incredible.
